Hazard Analysis
Overview > Touchstone Analyses > Hazard Analysis

A hazard analysis enables you to identify the relevant catastrophe hazards for locations in your exposure data. Additionally, a hazard analysis enables you to optionally view detailed information about the intensity of events at each location. For example, you can view the maximum wind speed of each hurricane that impacts a location included in the analysis.

Insurance companies usually build underwriting guidelines with this data, such as distance to coast or flood zones. Underwriters typically use this information to assess a location’s exposure to a given peril. Touchstone®'s hazard diagnostics can retrieve hazard information for earthquake, tropical cyclone, flood, terrorism, and severe thunderstorm.

You run a hazard analysis on an exposure view.
