CEDE 9.0 Database Reference
Introduction to CEDE

CEDE™ (Catastrophe Exposure Database Exchange) is AIR's open source exposure data format.

AIR created CEDE to facilitate accurate and transparent data exchange throughout the insurance value chain and to encourage model development from academic institutions and smaller organizations.

This document describes the tables and columns in a CEDE database (AIRExposure) as well as the tables and columns in related databases (AIRReference and AIRReinsurance).

Database Description
AIRExposure Stores exposure information such as contract and layer data.
AIRReference Stores reference data used by AIRExposure such as construction and occupancy class codes.
AIRReinsurance Stores information about reinsurance programs and contracts referenced in AIRExposure.

You can download a sample CEDE database from AIR's website. If you have any questions about the CEDE format or sample database, contact AIR Worldwide.

Touchstone users must use their current processes to create Touchstone-compatible exposure databases.
