Object Management

Object Management selections enable authorized users (System Administrator or Business Unit Administrator) to manage a variety of items, such as users, templates, loss cost adjustment factors, and cloud burst policies.

Users can open the Object Manager from the Administration Console or from within a context, such as an analysis configuration pane, elsewhere in Touchstone. While authorized users can manage objects from either location, ordinary users can only view objects. Example

Object Handling

The Object Manager includes buttons and functions that are common to many object types.

When you select objects and then click Delete, the Object Manager displays warning prompts, including warnings when other objects are using the objects selected for deletion or when objects in use cannot be deleted. Import and Export are available only for loss analysis and loss modification templates.

You can display all objects regardless of type or creator, only the objects that you created, or default objects, and you can select from various sort options. In addition, the panel includes Collapse/Restore pin icons that you can click to collapse and restore the object's leftmost panel. In this panel you select multiple objects using standard Windows multi-select techniques.

Create an Object

Most objects are created using the following steps:

1.     In the Administration Console select Object Management.

2.     In the list of objects in the navigation pane, select an object.

3.     In the object's left panel, click Create .

4.     In the Name field, enter a name for the new object.

5.     Optionally, enter a description.

6.     Enter information for the object, such as defaults and rules.

The information varies for each type of object.

7.     Click Save.

Unsaved objects are italicized in the list of objects.
