Cloud Bursting |
Cloud bursting is an application deployment model in which an application runs in a private cloud or data center and bursts seamlessly into a public cloud during periods of high demand, such as renewals.
During certain parts of the fiscal year, Touchstone clients experience dramatic spikes in their activity while they analyze catastrophe risk for new business and renewals. Cloud bursting supports scalability and can help clients keep the costs of infrastructure down, by enabling them to pay for extra computing resources only when needed. Work is broken into chunks and may be distributed both to local and to off-premises resources based on internal configuration as well as on memory and disk space constraints.
The Touchstone system administrator installs and configures cloud bursting. For information about adjustments that can be made after installation, refer to the Cloud Capacity Provisioning and Cloud Burst Policies.
Reports are available in Azure to list provisioning and deprovisioning activity and cloud usage by business unit. You may also generate a Cloud Usage Report from AIR ExportExpress.
