Exporting a Reinsurance Program

Reinsurance programs are created in a project and can only be viewed and applied within that project. However, you can export Excess of Loss (XOL), Quota Share, and Surplus Share programs and then import them into other projects. The export file will contain the program name, the date the program was created, treaty information, and line of business and area filters.

While you cannot export Facultative certificates via the Reinsurance Program Manager, you can view the terms at the contract’s location or layer level, select the information, and then copy and paste the information into a text file.

You can export a reinsurance program to an RPX file (XML-based .txt file) or to a legacy RPF file (not human-readable).

To export a reinsurance program:

1.     Open a project.

2.     In the project's navigation pane, click Reinsurance.

The Reinsurance Programs pane lists the available programs.

3.     In the Reinsurance Programs pane, highlight the row containing the reinsurance program that you want to export.

4.     Click Export Program .

The Export Reinsurance Program dialog box opens with the name of the selected program in the File name field.

5.     Navigate to a shared network folder with Read/Write access.

6.     Optionally, modify the file name.

7.     Select the file type, "Reinsurance Program Files (*.rpx)" or "Legacy Program Files (*.rpf)".

8.     Click Save.

If the file exists, the system prompts you to replace it; click Yes to replace it or No if you do not want to replace it. If the file does not exist, the system creates it and displays the message "Export Reinsurance Program successfully completed" with additional details about the destination folder for the exported program.
