Pipeline Construction

AIR provides the following codes for pipeline construction:

While Coverage C (content) is not supported for most of the 200-series construction class codes, it is, supported for Inland Transit (construction code 259) and for some other construction codes, such as tanks and pipelines. For the full list of supported combinations, refer to the "Const. & Occ. Combin." tab in each model supplement.

227	Underground Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground. For the AIR Earthquake Model for the United States, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2271.
228	At Grade Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground. For the AIR Earthquake Model for the United States, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2281.
2270	Unknown Pipeline	Pipelines with an unknown location and material, or other unknown pipelines that cannot be mapped to any of the other pipeline construction class codes Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2271	General Underground Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground with an unknown material of construction Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2272	Underground Cast Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of cast iron material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2273	Underground Asbestos Cement Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of asbestos-cement material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2274	Underground Concrete Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of concrete material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2275	Underground PVC Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of PVC material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2276	Underground Ductile Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of ductile iron material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2281	General At Grade Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground with an unknown material of construction Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2282	At Grade Cast Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of cast iron material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2283	At Grade Asbestos Cement Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of asbestos-cement material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2284	At Grade Concrete Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of concrete material Valid for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
2285	At Grade PVC Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of PVC material Valid only for South America and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
