Underwriting Defaults

The Underwriting Defaults pane enables you to manage underwriting defaults.

Description

Import and Data Entry: Exposure Database

The target exposure database to use in Underwriting Contract Mode. Select the database from the Exposure Database list.

Import and Data Entry: Exposure Set

The exposure set into which Touchstone will import new contracts. Select the exposure set from the Exposure Set selection list.

Results: Result Database

The database for the storage of loss results. Select the database in the Result Database list.

Master Portfolio Exposure View

The master portfolio exposure view to which Touchstone will add all Underwriting Contract Mode exposure data. Select the exposure view in the Exposure View list.

Analysis Type

Lists the analysis types available to the underwriters, such as Clash Analysis and Detailed Loss Analysis.

Analysis Target Type

The analysis target type (contract or exposure view) that applies to each available analysis type.

Analysis Target (applies only to Marginal and Portfolio Impact analyses)

Enables you to select an analysis target for Marginal and Portfolio Impact Analyses. In the Analysis Target list, select the analysis target. The list includes analysis results that serve as the reference portfolios for all Marginal and Portfolio Impact analyses that Touchstone runs automatically in Underwriting Contract Mode. You can select Loss Group results as well as Exposure View Loss results.

Analysis Filter (applies only to Clash analyses)

Enables you to filter by contract status and then select the target portfolio contract or contracts for Clash Analysis. In the Analysis Filter list, select each filter (Bound, Cancelled, Expired, Quoted, Rejected, Renewal Submitted). Example

Analysis Template (does not apply to Marginal and Portfolio Impact analyses)

Enables you to select the default analysis template. In the Analysis Template list, select the template.

You can also click in a cell and then click (Manage analysis templates), modify the selected template, and save it as a custom template. While you cannot modify or delete the default AIR templates, you can create custom Clash Analysis, Data Quality Analysis, Hazard Analysis, and Detailed Loss Analysis templates.

Widget Template (does not apply to Clash Analyses and Data Quality Analyses)

Enables you to select a widget template for Hazard, Loss, and Marginal and Portfolio Impact analysis types. In the Widget Template list, select the template.

You can also click in a cell and then click (Manage analysis templates), modify the selected template, and save it as a custom template. While you cannot modify or delete the default AIR templates, you can create custom Hazard Analysis, Detailed Loss Analysis, and Marginal and Portfolio Impact Analysis widget templates.

Auto Run

Enables you to specify whether to run one or more automatic analyses as soon as a contract is successfully imported. For each analysis type, select the Auto Run check box to run an automatic analysis or clear the check box if you do not want to run an automatic analysis.

 

To enable Auto Run for Marginal and Portfolio Impact analyses, you must also enable auto run for Detailed Loss Analyses. In addition, if you enable Auto Run for Marginal and Portfolio Impact analyses and want underwriters to view a Marginal and Portfolio Impact Analysis results widget in the Contract Summary Dashboard, create a Marginal and Portfolio Impact Analysis widget template.
