Configuring and Running a CAT XOL Analysis |
You can run a CAT XOL analysis on the results of a detailed loss analysis or loss group analysis as long as the results include a Net of Pre-CAT loss perspective. The Demand Surge setting is carried over in the CAT XOL analysis.
To perform a CAT XOL analysis:
1. Create a project or open an existing project.
2. In the navigation pane, select Results and then select the analysis against which you want to configure and run a CAT XOL analysis.
The activity status of the analysis results must be "Completed".
3. Under Run Analysis, click CAT XOL.
The Apply CAT XOL to Loss Results configuration pane displays the name of the analysis target.
4. In the Overview area, select and configure each option.
• Analysis Settings: Displays the event set used in the analysis target and enables you to select the perils to include in the results.
• Reinsurance Program: Enables you to select the reinsurance program to apply, and to configure facultative reinsurance (optional). Touchstone will validate your selections, ensuring that you have the appropriate reinsurance for the exposure data that you are analyzing. It will do a quick check to make sure that any LOB (line of business) applied to your exposure data, as well as any Surplus Share Treaty IDs, match between the reinsurance program and the exposure data. Touchstone also validates inception and expiration dates; it does a minimum and maximum comparison between treaty inceptions/expirations and contract inceptions/expirations to ensure that the treaty-in-force dates are in synch with the contracts, so that they will be applied.
• Output: Displays the output options specified that were used with the analysis target. CAT XOL stores the Post-CAT Net loss along with other perspectives in the target’s AnalysisID table, whether the target is a Detailed Loss Analysis or Loss Group results set. If the loss results include zones, the Zone field display the total number of zones.
• Analysis Management: Enables you to configure analysis-specific functions.
5. In the Analysis Name field, leave the default name, which includes the analysis target name and the type of analysis, or enter a unique alphanumeric identifier.
Entering some combination of the analysis target name along with the analysis type will enable you to quickly find result sets in the Activity Monitor. |
6. Click Run.
Touchstone adds the job to the Activity Monitor queue for processing when the required system resources are available.
