Exporting Exposure Data To UNICEDE 2 Files

You can export exposure views to UNICEDE/2 files and then use the files in CATRADER® and Touchstone Re if you license the application.

You have three options for saving the exported UNICEDE/2 files:

1.     Save the files in a directory that is accessible to Touchstone.

2.     Save the files in a database that is accessible to both Touchstone and Touchstone Re.

3.     Do both 1 and 2.

Option 2 enables you to transfer UNICEDE/2 files directly to Touchstone Re rather than exporting and then importing the files.

The UNICEDE/2 format enables primary insurers and their treaty reinsurers to exchange aggregate sums insured, risk count, payroll, and premium data. UNICEDE/2 supports country-specific lines of business and geographic detail. The file extension for exposure data that you export to UNICEDE/2 format is .txt. For more information about the UNICEDE/2 format, visit www.unicede.com.

To export exposure data to a UNICEDE/2 file:

1.     On the global menu bar, click Export > Exposure > UNICEDE/2/Associate Exposure.

Alternatively, right-click the exposure view in the All Exposure Views list and then click Export to UNICEDE/2.

2.     On the Source Results tab:

a.     Select the exposure view to export.

b.     Optionally, in the Comments field, provide some information about the export job.

3.     On the LOB Mapping tab, map each unrecognized, user-specified LOB in the loss results to an industry LOB:

To map all the user-specified LOBs to one industry LOB, select an LOB in the Set All Countries To field, and then click Apply.

Touchstone applies the LOB you selected for all countries where the LOB is valid.

Alternatively, click each Industry LOB cell and then select an LOB.

You can select the row for a user-specified LOB, and then click the expand icon to view more information about the LOB.

You can copy and paste an industry LOB value by highlighting the value, right-clicking, and then selecting Copy or Paste in the shortcut menu. Ensure that any pasted value is valid for the corresponding country.

4.     On the Options tab:

a.     In the Target Currency area, select the currency, exchange rate table, and base currency units to use.

b.     In the Sums Insured field, select Use limits or Use replacement values.

c.     Optionally, select Output premium in the Premium field, to export premium information.

5.     On the Header Data tab:

a.     In the Ceding Company Information area, type the name and the standard ID of the ceding company seeking reinsurance.

If you leave the Name field blank, Touchstone sets the Ceding Company name to the exposure view name in the exported file.

b.     In the Additional Information area, specify the as-of-date, Data Quality rating, and coverage.

c.     In the Source Company Information area, type the name of the company that prepared the file for submission.

6.     Optionally, select Associate to Company and then specify the details of the Touchstone Re company to transfer the exposure data to.

7.     Optionally, select Save to UNICEDE/2 and then pecify the destination for the exported data.

8.     Optionally, deselect Close on Export to keep AIR ExportExpress open after you submit the export job.

9.     Click Export.
