Specifying the Destination Data Source and (Optional) Exposure View or Exposure View Suffix

After selecting the import file, you specify the destination database and (optional) exposure view or exposure view suffix for the EDM-formatted exposure data you want to import.

To set the destination for imported data:

1.     View the currently specified SQL server.

2.     Select the target database in which you want to save the imported data, or, to create a new database to store the imported data, enter a unique database name. With Touchstone 4.0, the Database field is pre-populated with the default database specified on the Server Definition pane.

3.     (optional) In the Name Suffix field, enter a suffix for the exposure set name.

4.     To create a new exposure view or add to an existing exposure view during the import:

a.     Select the Create an Exposure View (in a New or Existing Project) check box.

b.     In the Projects field, select the project in which you want to create the new exposure view or add the imported data to an existing exposure view. Alternately, to create a new project during the import, enter a name for the new project.

c.     If you created a new project, in the Project Currency field, select the currency and exchange rate to apply to the project. The project currency settings override the business unit currency settings.

d.     Select one of the following options:

Exposure Views: AIR ImportExpress imports all portfolios into a single exposure view using the name that you specify in the Exposure Views field.

Exposure View Suffix: AIR ImportExpress imports each portfolio into a separate exposure view. In this case, AIR ImportExpress names each exposure view using the name of the corresponding imported portfolio (which is also the name of the corresponding exposure set), followed by the suffix that you specify in the Exposure View Suffix field.

e.     If you selected the Exposure Views option, in the Exposure Views field enter a name for the new exposure view that you want to create during the import process. Or, to add the data that you are importing into an existing exposure view, select the desired exposure view.

f.       If you selected the Exposure View Suffix option, in the Exposure View Suffix field, enter the exposure view suffix you want to use.

g.     If you want to auto-generate an exposure view summary during the import, select the Auto-generate exposure summary check box.

After you define the destination data source, AIR recommends that you configure the import options.
