Filtering Lists

You can use filters to display only the items, such as locations, that meet certain criteria. For instance, you could configure the Hazard Results table to list only locations within a mile of the Gulf Coast that are less than 10 feet above sea level. Or you could configure the Activity Monitor to list activities of a specific type, such as Import.

To filter a list:

1.     In the column to which you want to apply a filter, such as "City", click the Filter operator icon, such as "=" (Equals) or "Aa" (Starts with).

The list of available filter operators appears.

2.     Select the filter operator that you want to use and then select or enter a value.

In some grids, you simply start typing the filter criteria. For example, when you are creating a new exposure view, you type the criteria in the filter row without using a filter operator.

3.     Click here for information about defining complex filters.

4.     To clear a single filter, click the Clear filter icon (the filter icon with a small "x") in the column where you want to clear the filter.

5.     To clear all the filters click the Clear filter icon (the filter icon with a right-pointing triangle) in the first cell of the filter row.

Examples

To narrow down the list of exposure sets to include in a new exposure view: Click New Exposure View, and then, in the Database Name column, leave the default "Contains" and enter "2008"; the application lists only databases with "2008" in the name. In the Exposure Set column, click the Filter operator icon, select "Ends with", and then enter "US ALL ZIP"; the application lists only the exposure sets where the database name contains "2008" and the exposure set name ends with "US ALL ZIP".

To narrow down the list of exposure views: In the Project Data pane, click Exposure Views, and then, in the Created Date column, select the Equals operator (=) and select "This Year"; the application lists only the exposure views that were created this year. In the # Locations column, select the Less than operator (<), and then enter "3000"; the application lists only the exposure views that were created this year for exposures with less than 3000 locations.

To narrow down the list of contracts in the Contract List, click Manage Filters on the ribbon, enter the filter criteria ("Contract ID", "Starts with", and "94", and then click Apply. The application lists only the contracts that start with "94".

To narrow down the list of hazard results: In the Hazard Results table, in the City column, select the Contains operator and select "Canoga Park"; the application lists only the hazard results for Canoga Park.
