Sample UNICEDE/px File |
The following sections contain examples of common UNICEDE/px layouts for standard personal lines and commercial lines.
Standard personal lines generally contain single-location or multi-location policies without layers. In this case, the UNICEDE/px file must contain the following records:
The following excerpt contains three single-location policy records:

• Header Record (first row): The first field in this line is the Record Type (RecTypeCode). The value ***1 identifies a header record.
• Policy Record (60): The first field in this line is the Record Type (RecTypeCode). The number 60 identifies a policy record. The second field is the Policy Identifier (PolID), which for the first policy is POL_00059. This ID links the policy record and its corresponding location record.
• Location Record (63): The first field in this line is the Record Type (RecTypeCode). The number 63 identifies a location record. The second field is the Policy Identifier (PolID), which for the first location is POL_00059. This ID links the location record to its corresponding policy record. In this example, each of the locations has its own policy record.
UNICEDE/px files for single-location commercial policies can look similar to the UNICEDE/px files for personal lines policies, while UNICEDE/px files for commercial excess and multi-location commercial policies tend to look different. A UNICEDE/px file for a commercial book contains all the required record types, and may include optional layer, sublimit, and location detail records.
The following excerpt is an example of a UNICEDE/px file for multi-location commercial lines:
