Unknown construction / unknown occupancy combinations

Touchstone provides construction and occupancy codes to represent cases in which the construction class and/or unknown occupancy type are unknown. This topic lists the results of various combinations of unknown construction and/or unknown occupancy class codes.

For onshore locations, construction class code 100 represents unknown construction, while occupancy class code 300 represents unknown occupancy. For offshore locations, construction class code 800 represents unknown construction, while occupancy class code 900 represents unknown occupancy.

If you try to import a location with a blank construction or occupancy code, ImportExpress rejects the location. However, you can specify default construction and occupancy class codes for comma-separated values (CSV) imports. See Locations Defaults Tab.

See "Location Basic Building Fields" for information about the basic building characteristics of locations.
