      - Select an event set
        In Analysis Settings, select the appropriate event set for the exposures that you are analyzing. The event sets that are included in the list depend on the countries and perils licensed.

      Applying an event set filter enables you to run a standard loss analysis for a user-defined subset of events in the event set that you have selected.

      Reflect the increased cost of labor and materials following a major catastrophe by setting the Demand Surge options for loss results.

      This function enables you to set as a detailed loss analysis default whether to apply former or revised min-max deductible logic. This flexibility enables you to calculate the deductible with or without the application of location terms. Users can override the default when configuring a detailed loss analysis.

- Loss Group analysis
  A Loss Group analysis enables you to combine two or more sets of loss results from different analyses into a single loss view, or group, which is then available for use as input to subsequent processes or analyses.
- Loss comparative analysis
- CAT XOL analysis
  A catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance program (CAT XOL) indemnifies the ceding company for that portion of the loss that exceeds the limit of its own retention per event.

  A marginal impact analysis enables you to view the effect that a specific loss results set (the target or new portfolio/contract) has on another loss results set (the reference portfolio).

Set detailed loss analysis settings

In Analysis Settings , configure model, region, event sets, perils, demand surge, financial, and flexibility settings.

Administrators can create loss analysis templates to specify defaults for detailed loss analysis settings.

Procedure

Create a new detailed loss analysis.
Under Loss Diagnostics, click Analysis Settings.
The Analysis Settings pane appears.
Select the model:
- AIR Default
- User Model
Select the region.
Touchstone filters the event sets based on the region.
Select the event set.
Select the perils.
[Optional] Apply an event set filter.
Specify demand surge options.
[Optional] Specify the min-max deductible policy logic.
Specify financial settings.
[Optional] Specify flexibility settings.
[Optional] Select the Move Marine Craft Geocodes to Coast check box.
Since storm surge is the main driver of loss for pleasure boats and yachts, and the location information for those craft may be inland, Touchstone can move marine craft geocodes to the coastline during a loss analysis. This option can provide a better estimate of storm surge losses when the exact location of the marine craft is not available. To determine the geocodes to be moved, Touchstone uses the median storm surge losses from our Industry Exposure Database at the U.S. ZIP Code and postal code levels. If the locations are coded with construction types 265, 266, or 267, and this option is selected, the geocodes are moved regardless of the geocode match level. Touchstone does not update the exposure data with the new geocodes. Selecting this option can result in higher or lower losses.
