Using Touchstone online Help
You can access the top-level or context-sensitive Touchstone online help from within the application or from the Client Portal. You can then search for content, bookmark pages, and generate output to other formats.
Import data from external sources
You can import exposure data, map layers, projects, and reinsurance packages from external sources into Touchstone databases.

These diagnostics enable you to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the exposure data you are using for analyses and supplement that data when it is missing or weak.

  Use the detailed loss analysis module to run a detailed loss analysis on the same exposure data that you imported for catastrophe modeling.

  A Loss Group analysis enables you to combine two or more sets of loss results from different analyses into a single loss view, or group, which is then available for use as input to subsequent processes or analyses.

    Loss Comparative analysis is a separately licensed component, that enables you to compare loss results, display the compared results side-by-side, and export the results of the analysis. You must license this component.
    - Creating a new loss comparative analysis
      You perform this analysis to compare results from detailed loss analyses.
    - Specifying loss comparative analysis options
      The analysis options include selecting two or more sets of loss results, specifying a set of loss results as the baseline, and specifying how to filter the results.
    - Specify analysis management settings
      You can specify various analysis management settings, such as the result database, before running a loss analysis or a geospatial analysis.
    - Working with loss comparative analysis results
      The information in the results grid is similar to the information in the results grid for a detailed loss analysis. The main difference is that the results grid for a loss comparative analysis includes a row for each set of analysis results being compared.
    - Geo Level table
      The Geo Level table is available only when you configure a loss comparative analysis to filter the results by geography and when at least one set of loss results included in the analysis was saved at the location, postal, sub area, or area level.
- CAT XOL analysis
  A catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance program (CAT XOL) indemnifies the ceding company for that portion of the loss that exceeds the limit of its own retention per event.

Loss Comparative analysis is a separately licensed component, that enables you to compare loss results, display the compared results side-by-side, and export the results of the analysis. You must license this component.

Custom losses are available to Loss Comparative analyses.

Note:

Touchstone only supports CSVs and CEDEs for analyses run with Custom Frequency event catalogs.

This analysis enables you to compare loss results at a wide variety of resolutions using different comparison metrics. You may want to compare loss results as follows:

Over time, such as between the first and second quarters
Based on financial terms, such as with a 10% versus a 15% deductible
Based on analysis options, such as whether an analysis was run with or without demand surge
Based on combinations of perils and sub-perils
At different geospatial resolutions
