Analysis Options pane (Marginal Impact analysis)
Information about configuration options for a marginal impact analysis.
Select base loss result
Use the options described in the following table to select and configure the base loss result.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Exclude contracts based on Expiring Contracts ID | By default, marginal impact excludes expiring contracts from the base loss result. Every contract that is being renewed has an ‘Expiring Contract ID' associated with it. Use the text box to list the contracts that are to be excluded. To include these contracts in the marginal impact analysis, clear the Exclude contracts on Expiring Contract ID check box. |
Window | Specify a range to calculate a window-based average for return period (RP) losses. Select 0 to report the losses for each RP with no averaging. Specify 1 to 9 to specify the range of losses around each RP to average. For example, if you specify a window of , Touchstone calculates the marginal impact using averaged RP loss values for both the target analysis and the base loss portfolio based on the average of 2n+1 loss values around each RP. |
Analysis SID |
This is the Touchstone-generated analysis sequential identifier (SID) for each set of detailed loss analysis or loss group analysis results that is available for inclusion as the reference portfolio in this marginal impact analysis. Highlight the set of analysis results that you want to include in the analysis as the reference portfolio. The set of analysis results that you accessed to configure this analysis serves as the target (or new) portfolio or contract for this analysis. |
Name | The name of each set of detailed loss analysis or loss group analysis results that is available for inclusion as the reference portfolio in this analysis. |
Project | This is the project associated with each set of detailed loss analysis or loss group analysis results that is available for inclusion as the reference portfolio in this analysis. |
User ID | This is the ID of the user who generated the analysis. |
Inline grid filters ![]() |
Select whether to show or hide the filters for the columns. |
Refresh Grid ![]() |
Click this button to refresh the list of available reference portfolios based on the filters. |
Configure groups
Use the options in the following table to configure groups.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Template | This field may be empty or may include a list of saved templates from which you can select one to use in this analysis. A template includes the target name, administrative boundary (optional), and associated perils and sub-perils . |
Target Name | The name of the analysis target. You can create multiple targets. Each target name generates a marginal impact analysis, enabling you to run several marginal impact analyses simultaneously. |
Administrative Boundaries | [Optional] Select an administrative boundary from the list or click
![]() |
Perils | In the
Perils column for the target, click ![]() |
Save as Template | Click this button to save this combination of target settings as a template for use in later marginal impact analyses. In the Template Name field that appears, enter a unique name for the template. |
