Storage Tank Construction |
AIR provides the following codes for storage tank construction:
While Coverage C (content) is not supported for most of the 200-series construction class codes, it is, supported for Inland Transit (construction code 259) and for some other construction codes, such as tanks and pipelines. Underground Liquid Tanks |
Underground tanks that are designed to hold liquids. For the AIR Earthquake Model for the United States, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2211. |

Underground Solid Tanks |
Underground storage tanks that are designed to hold solid material. For the AIR Earthquake Model for the United States, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2221. |
|
On Ground Liquid Tanks |
Above ground storage tanks located on the ground surface that are designed to hold liquids. For the U.S. Earthquake Model, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2231. |

On Ground Solid Tanks |
Above ground storage tanks located on the ground surface that are designed to hold solid material. For the U.S. Earthquake Model, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2241. |

Elevated Liquid Tanks |
Storage tanks located above the ground surface that are designed to hold liquids. For the U.S. Earthquake Model, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2251. |

Elevated Solid Tanks |
Storage tanks located above the ground surface that are designed to hold solid material. For the U.S. Earthquake Model, AIR recommends using the new 4-digit construction code 2261. |
