User Model Management

The User Model Management function, which is available in the Event Set Management group in the Administration Console, enables you to seamlessly integrate non-AIR models into Touchstone.

Users can build a custom model using Touchstone Model Builder, which requires a separate license. Model Builder enables users to model perils and countries not currently modeled by AIR by mapping them to perils supported by Touchstone. The Model Builder user performs the following tasks, which are described in detail in Using Touchstone Model Builder:

  • Defines the perils and regions covered by the custom model.

  • Imports event catalog files and maps them to fields that Model Builder understands.

  • Configures local intensities or average hazard intensity.

  • Builds a vulnerability module by preparing several types of damage files.

Model Builder converts the catalog, intensity, and damage files to binary form and creates a model package for import into Touchstone. You can replace only the damage functions.

The User Model Management pane enables you to import custom user models into Touchstone. You can then select the custom model to use with your imported exposure data when you run a Detailed Loss Analysis. See "Configuring a Loss Analysis with a Custom Model" Help topic.
