Admin boundaries

Define administrative boundaries for use in Touchstone.

Parameters and buttons Description
Common buttons Use these buttons (when applicable) and the parameters below to create and modify administrative boundaries.
Name Name of the administrative boundary.
Description Brief description of the administrative boundary
Regions In the list, click and then select a region. The Country column is populated with a list of countries in the selected region.
Country In the list, select the check box next to the country or countries to include in the boundary you are defining. If the list of countries is long, in the text box above the list start typing the name of the country you want to select.
Columns for administrative boundaries (e.g. state, province, CRESTA, municipality, county) To select an administrative boundary associated with the selected country, click the country name and then select items from the list that populates the next column. The column label (boundary identifier, such as "State") depends on the selected country. Continue viewing and selecting items to populate the next column with additional administrative boundaries (e.g. FSA code, FSALDU code, municipality, postal code, protraction, block).
Preview Select the check box next to an item to add the item to the Preview pane.
Export Allows you to export administrative boundaries from a Touchstone environment to a different environment or to a local path.
If you created a new boundary, click .
In the list of admin boundaries, highlight the boundaries that you want to export and then click (Export). In the Save Objects window, select the path for the admin boundary file (*.abf), leave the default file name or enter a new file name, and then click (Save). You can export one or multiple administrative boundaries at the same time.
Import Allows you to import administrative boundaries into Touchstone. Click (Import), navigate to the location of the admin boundary file and click Open. If an administrative boundary with the same name exists, Touchstone adds a number, such as "_1". Click (Save).You can import one or multiple admin boundaries at the same time.
