About specifying average properties
Specify how Touchstone should apply average physical properties, such as soil type and land use/land cover data, at a region-specific geographic resolution, during a loss analysis.
Refer to the Exposure
Disaggregation and Average Properties in Touchstone guide on the Client Portal for
information about this option, including information about the models that
support average properties, and the supported countries and geographic
resolutions at which Touchstone
applies average properties.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Automatic | Touchstone automatically assigns average physical properties based on the geocode match level. If the match level of the location is ZIP centroid or coarser, it uses the average physical properties. If the match level is finer than ZIP centroid, it uses the grid physical properties, down to one kilometer, which is the resolution used by our Industry Exposure Database. |
On | Touchstone analyzes all locations based on average physical characteristics for an entire postal code area, regardless of the geocode match level. |
Off | This is the default setting. If you do not select this option, Touchstone estimates the loss based on hazards at the geocode of your location. |
