Set inland flood options

You can specify inland flood zones and flood sources for detailed loss analyses.

Flood zones are based on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Verisk flood zone categories.

Note: Storm surge is not accounted for in the flood model.

When you import or enter location-surrounding details for exposures, you can specify the custom flood zone to which each exposure belongs. Then, when you configure a detailed loss analysis that includes the inland flood peril, you can select the flood zone(s) that you want to include in the analysis.

Touchstone also provides a default option that enables you to include, in an analysis, exposures that have not been assigned to a specific custom flood zone.

Procedure

  1. Create a new detailed loss analysis.
  2. In the Analysis Settings pane, select (Edit) next to the Inland Flood check box.
The Loss Analysis Options: Inland Flood dialog box appears. Select Inland flood zones and source of flooding for more information.
  3. Select or clear any of the check boxes (flood zones and source of flooding) as needed.
  4. Click OK.
