Import event sets from ALERT website
The ALERT website is a Verisk-proprietary site. ALERT event sets are posted to the ALERT website as part of real-time updates for catastrophes around the world. Use the event sets to analyze risk on your portfolios.
With the 2023 release, you can import ALERT event sets
directly into the Event Set Manager in Touchstone
or Touchstone Re, into the business unit you are
logged into, with one-click. From the application's home page, click the ALERT
tab and then locate the event set of interest to you. The Import
Event Set button appears when a download is available: click the button to
import the event set into the Event Set Manager. After the import is complete, it is
available for immediate use for running a loss analysis without you having to close and
re-open any application windows. The link is then disabled for that business unit, to avoid
import of the same event set into the business unit. You can quickly view available ALERT
events in the Event Set Management pane by specifying "Alert" in the
Type column (in Touchstone) or "RealTimeCATMap "(in Touchstone Re).
Note: You can still use the manual procedure described below where you click an
event on the home page's ALERT tab, download the event set file from
the ALERT™
Worldwide website, and then import the event set into
[k_kw_air-product-name_touchstone] through the pane.
Procedure
- Download the event set zip file from the ALERT™ Worldwide website to a location that the application can access, such as a shared folder.
- Extract the content of the zip file .
- Select .
- Click Import.
-
Navigate to the folder containing the ALERT event set files, select the EVI you want to
import, and then click Open.
After the application has installed the event set, it displays the message "Successfully installed name.evi".
-
Click OK.
The imported event set appears in the event set list. When you configure a detailed loss analysis, the imported event appears in the Event Set list in Analysis Settings.
Note:Loss analyses that are run against custom ALERT event sets are not CLF-compatible.
