Context-specific Export

Touchstone enables you to export maps and data contained in grids (tables). For example, when you display the exposure summary dashboard, in addition to viewing the exposure map, you can view charts that display distribution of replacement values by occupancy, construction, coverage type, and geocode match level, etc. You can then export the map and charts to one or more Excel spreadsheets.

Note:

The export file contains only the data that is currently in memory, such as formatted tables and color charts. The export file does not contain all the results.

In addition to using the Export procedure documented in this topic, you can copy and paste tabular data into a spreadsheet by right-clicking in most tables, using the Select All, Copy, or Copy All commands, and then pasting the copied data.

The following procedure applies to the Exposure Summary Dashboard—if you licensed Geospatial Analysis, you can open the analysis results, right-click the title bar of the item that you want to export, and follow the remaining steps.

Procedure

To export context-specific data from the Exposure Summary Dashboard:

  1. Open a project.
  2. Open an exposure view.

    The Exposure Summary Dashboard appears.

  3. Right-click the title bar of the item to export.

    Right-click the title bar of the "Geocode Match Level - Distribution of Replacement Value by Geocode Match Level" chart.

  4. Click Export.

    The Save As dialog box appears with the project name in the File name field.

  5. Browse to the target location for the exported data, and then click Save.
  6. To view the saved data, open the target location and then double-click the <file_name>.xls file.

    The chart opens in the spreadsheet program.

  7. To export all currently displayed items, right-click the header of any item and then click Export All.
    Tip:

    Click a title bar and then press Ctrl+ E to initiate the export of the currently selected item or Ctrl+Shift + E to initiate an export of all currently displayed items.
