Editing Mapping Sets

In AIR ImportExpress, you must map required fields in the mapping set before you can proceed with the import. You can also set default values for some of the fields. The Edit Mappings function enables you to map fields and set default values. In the Field Mapping window, the Required Fields area on each tab—Contracts, Locations, Reinsurance, and Step Function—identifies the required fields and the field names for which AIR ImportExpress looks. For example, if your data contains a PolicyID field, you must map it to the Contract ID field.

Procedure

To edit a mapping set:

  1. In the Mapping Set and File Selection area on the Import & Mapping Data tab of AIR ImportExpress, select the policy type and data that you want to import.
  2. Click Edit Mappings. The Field Mapping window opens.

    This window enables you to determine quickly whether the source files are ready for import. Each of the selected import files has its own tab. A status icon on each tab indicates whether you must take action on the tab.

    Note:

    The Contracts tab, Locations tab, and Reinsurance tab contain sub-tabs for field mapping and defaults. The Step Function tab contains a tab for field mapping.

  3. On each tab that contains a warning icon, map the required fields to an existing Touchstone column.

    For example, on the Contracts tab, map PolicyID to Contract ID. The icon then appears next to Contract ID in the Required Fields area. On the Locations tab, you must map at least one replacement value field and some minimal address information (such as country, state/area, postal, etc.).

    Note:

    As you edit the settings on each tab, click Apply to apply the changes.

  4. Optionally, set default values for the source import files.
  5. When all the status icons change to click OK.
