Reinsurance (Value Mapping) Tab

Value mapping helps you to complete imports successfully by mapping custom, user-defined terms in the fields that you have mapped within your import files to valid Touchstone values. For example, you can map user-defined peril codes, such as Hurr (hurricane) and Terr (terrorism) to AIR-recognized peril codes, such as TC (tropical cyclone) and TR (terrorism). Touchstone converts these mapped values to the corresponding Touchstone values during the import process.

The Reinsurance Field Mapping tab contains the following fields, areas, and buttons:

Field

Description

Scan

Enables you to scan your import file for unrecognized values, that is, values that are not valid Touchstone values.

Unrecognized values

Displays the total number of values in your locations import file that are not valid Touchstone values.

Unrecognized values Grid

Enables you to map values in your source reinsurance file that are not valid Touchstone values to valid Touchstone values for successful data import.

For each value that you want to map:

  1. View or select the desired import file field in the Source column.

  2. Enter the import file value in the Value column.

  3. Select the desired Touchstone value to which you want to map the import file value that you have entered.

Click the top, green row of the grid to add new value mappings.

Source

Specifies the import file field that contains custom, user-defined values that you want to map to valid Touchstone values.

Value

Specifies the import file value that you want to map to a valid Touchstone value.

Mapping

Specifies the valid Touchstone value to which you want to map the custom, user-defined import file value that you have specified in the Value field.

Note:

When you have finished editing the settings on this tab, click Apply to apply the changes.
