Exporting a Reinsurance Submission Package

The Reinsurance Submission Package (RSP) wizard enables you to export a package of reinsurance programs, all related to a Detailed Loss Analysis that was run. The package can contain multiple files, including:

       One or more CLFs

       UNICEDE2 or CEDE2 files

RPX files (XML-based reinsurance program files)

This feature enables brokers to know exactly what to send to a reinsurer, and enables the reinsurer to know exactly what they will receive in a given RSP. After exporting an RSP, users can import the CEDE2 and RPX files into Touchstone.

Each RSP represents one company and should include associated exposures/losses as well as reinsurance programs.

To export an RSP:

1.     On the global menu bar, click Export and select Reinsurance Package.

2.     In the Step 1 of 4: Loss Options window, complete the options:

a.     On the Source Results tab, select one or more analyses that include Detailed Loss, Loss Group, or CAT XOL results to export.

The Options and LOB Mapping tabs become available. The RSP wizard will generate a Company Loss File (CLF) to include in the package.

b.     On the Options tab, select financial perspectives and target treaty losses (10,000 Years, 50,000 Years, 500,000 Years) that you want to export.

Unavailable options are dimmed. If you selected multiple analysis results, the wizard will use all available options for each analysis result.

The Perils Detected in Analysis section lists the perils that were used to run the analysis of the loss results you are exporting. It is not an export filter. If necessary, use the scroll bar to view a long list of perils.

c.     On the LOB Mapping tab, if there is a warning icon, map any unrecognized values.

For each unrecognized value, click in the Industry LOB field and select the LOB to map to the User LOB value. The User LOB column lists unrecognized user-specified LOBs that are included in the analysis results. When you have successfully mapped the unrecognized values, the Next button becomes available.

3.     Click Next and then complete the options in the Step 2 of 4: Exposure Options window.

a.     On the Source tab, verify the source.

The data includes the name of the exposure view, the project name, the number of exposure sets, and the creation date of the analysis.

b.     On the Options tab, select the format for the exported exposure data that will be included in the RSP. You have two options:

CEDE 2.0 (Detailed Database)—Select only this option for import into Touchstone. If you select CEDE 2.0, specify the appropriate options. You must select a target database and specify an exposure prefix.

UNICEDE/2 (Aggregated File)—Select only this option for import into CATRADER. If you select UNICEDE 2, specify the options and then fix any LOB Mapping issues. Click here for information about the options.

4.     Click Next and then complete the options in the Step 3 of 4: Program Options window.

The list of programs is based on the analyses from which the CLF was generated. Select the program that you want to include in the RSP. (The format of the exported program will be RPX.)

5.     Click Next and then complete the options in the Step 4 of 4: Export Options window

a.     Specify the number of cores to use.

b.     Specify whether to save the sub-activity logs.

Since each RSP includes multiple files, there is an activity log for each underlying component. This check box enables you to save the sub-activity logs in the target folder for the RSP.

c.     Enter the company name (required).

The wizard stamps the CLF (EVI) and UNICEDE/2 files with this name, which facilitates re-import into CATRADER or into a future Touchstone reinsurance platform.

d.     In the Destination Path field, browse to a shared network folder, or, if the target folder is a local shared folder, enter the path to it using this UNC (Uniform Naming Convention) format: \\Server_Name\Shared_Folder_Name. Example: \\Public\TouchstoneRSPExports

6.     Clear the Close on Export check box if you do not want the window to close after the export is submitted.

7.     Click Export.

You can check the Activity Monitor for the status of the Export.

8.     When the export is complete, open the destination folder.

It should contain UNICEDE/2 or CEDE2 files, EVI files, and RPX files, all in separate sub folders.
