Pipeline construction codes

This topic lists the pipeline construction codes supported by Touchstone.

Note:

While Coverage C (content) is not supported for most of the 200-series construction class codes, it is supported for Inland Transit (construction code 259) and for some other construction codes, such as tanks and pipelines. For the full list of supported combinations, refer to the Const. & Occ. Combin. tab in each model supplement. Construction Code	Category	Description
227	Underground Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit pipeline construction code 2271.
228	At Grade Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit pipeline construction code 2281.
2270	Unknown Pipeline	Pipelines with an unknown location and material, or other unknown pipelines that cannot be mapped to any of the other pipeline construction class codes.
2271	General Underground Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground with an unknown material of construction.
2272	Underground Cast Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of cast iron material.
2273	Underground Asbestos Cement Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of asbestos-cement material.
2274	Underground Concrete Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of concrete material.
2275	Underground PVC Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of PVC material.
2276	Underground Ductile Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located under the surface of the ground and made of ductile iron material.
2281	General At Grade Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground with an unknown material of construction.
2282	At Grade Cast Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of cast iron material.
2283	At Grade Asbestos Cement Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of asbestos-cement material.
2284	At Grade Concrete Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of concrete material.
2285	At Grade PVC Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of PVC material.
2286	At Grade Ductile Iron Pipelines	Pipelines located at the surface of the ground and made of ductile iron material.
