Storage tank construction codes

This topic lists the storage tank construction codes supported by Touchstone.

Note:

While Coverage C (content) is not supported for most of the 200-series construction class codes, it is supported for Inland Transit (construction code 259) and for some other construction codes, such as tanks and pipelines. Construction Code	Category	Description
221	Underground Liquid Tanks	Underground tanks that are designed to hold liquids. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit construction storage tank construction code 2211.
222	Underground Solid Tanks	Underground storage tanks that are designed to hold solid material. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit storage tank construction code 2221.
223	On Ground Liquid Tanks	Above ground storage tanks located on the ground surface that are designed to hold liquids. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit storage tank construction code 2231.
224	On Ground Solid Tanks	Above ground storage tanks located on the ground surface that are designed to hold solid material. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit storage tank construction code 2241.
225	Elevated Liquid Tanks	Above ground storage tanks located above the ground surface that are designed to hold liquids. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit storage tank construction code 2251.
226	Elevated Solid Tanks	Above ground storage tanks located above the ground surface that are designed to hold solid material. For the Verisk Earthquake Model for the United States, we recommend using the new 4-digit storage tank construction code 2261.
2210	Unknown Tanks	Storage tanks with an unknown material, unknown location, and unknown contents, or other unknowns that cannot be mapped to any of the other storage tank construction class codes.
2211	Underground Liquid Tanks	Storage tanks made of steel or concrete for holding liquids. Located under the ground.
2221	Underground Solid Tanks	Storage tanks made of steel or concrete for holding solid material. Located under the ground.
2231	On Ground Liquid Tanks	Storage tanks for holding liquids with an unknown material of construction. Located on the ground surface.
2232	On Ground Steel Liquid Tanks	Storage tanks made of steel for holding liquids. Located on the ground surface.
2233	On Ground Concrete Liquid Tanks	Storage tanks made of concrete for holding liquids. Located on the ground surface.
2241	On Ground Solid Tanks	Storage tanks for holding solid material with an unknown material of construction. Located on the ground surface.
2242	On Ground Steel Solid Tanks	Storage tanks made of steel for holding solid material. Located on the ground surface.
