Creating a New Data Quality Analysis
You can select multiple exposure views and contracts as the targets for a Data Quality Analysis.
Procedure
To perform a Data Quality Analysis:
- Create a project or open an existing project.
-
Add an
exposure view, or highlight an existing exposure view or
views.
You can also open the Contract List for an exposure view and then highlight one or more contracts.
-
With the exposure views or contracts highlighted, under Run
Analysis, click Data Quality
(if you highlighted exposure views) or Contract Data
Quality Analysis (if you highlighted
contracts).
The New Data Quality Analysis pane displays the name of the analysis target or targets. It also indicates how much of the exposure data has not been geocoded. Since Touchstone does not generate results for non-geocoded locations, you may want to fix the data before running the analysis, if the percent of non-geocoded data is high.
-
In the Data Quality Diagnostics area, select and
configure each diagnostic that you want to run.
Depending on the diagnostics and the actions that you select, you may need to set several diagnostic-specific configuration options.
- Validate and Score
-
Enables you to configure the following diagnostics to assess data quality and completeness:
- Benchmark
-
Enables you to configure the following diagnostics to review and compare your data to the aggregate data in AIR's Industry Exposure Database:
- Augment
-
Enables you to update inaccurate location details, or add missing location details and replacement values to your exposure data:
-
Enhance with Property-Specific Data (if AIR's Property-specific database is licensed) and/or User-Specified values
-
Select data consistency options
-
-
To narrow the scope of the data being analyzed, click
Analysis Filters.
You can analyze only those exposures with a total replacement value above or below a specific value.
- Click Analysis Management to configure analysis-specific functions.
-
[Optional] In the Analysis Prefix field, enter a
prefix to distinguish between analysis results when you run an
analysis with multiple targets.
The Analysis Prefix field appears only when you have selected multiple analysis targets. Touchstone generates separate analysis resuls for each analysis target.
-
In the Analysis Name field, if the analysis
target is a single exposure view or contract, you can leave the
default, which is the exposure view name or the contract ID and the
type of analysis, or you can enter a unique alphanumeric identifier.
If the analysis target includes multiple exposure views or contracts,
you cannot change the default name, which is "Auto name ('n'
items)".
Entering some combination of the exposure view name along with the analysis type enables you to quickly find result sets in the Activity Monitor.
-
Click Run.
Data Quality adds the project to the Activity Monitor queue for processing when the required system resources are available.
- View the analysis results.
