Server Administration
Server Administration enables a server administrator to perform the following tasks:
-
Register (add) one or more instances of Microsoft SQL Server databases in the application.
-
Set the default path to the primary data (MDF) files for the database.
-
Set the default path to the log (LDF) files for the database.
-
Define the business units whose data reside on the registered server.
-
Delete one or more SQL Server instances.
-
Refresh the list of SQL Servers.
-
Purge all objects marked for deletion in AIR databases.
Usage notes
-
There must always be at least one SQL Server instance registered in the application.
-
The default SQL Server database is the server to which you are currently connected.
-
When you delete an SQL Server instance, it is no longer available to the application. Deleting an instance removes it from the business units with which it is associated.
-
You cannot undo a deletion.
