Parts of a .csv reinsurance file
Reinsurance files contain information about facultative reinsurance and surplus shares that you want to import into Touchstone using ImportExpress.
- Surplus Share: Note that you cannot apply surplus share to a location when a layer exists in the policy (contract) that contains that location.
- Facultative
- Spot Fac (Spot facultative): This is location-level (spot) facultative applied within a layer. It is not supported in surplus shared treaties.
Touchstone also supports Quota Share and Excess-of-Loss (XOL) reinsurance treaties. For more information, see Using Reinsurance in Touchstone, which is available on the Client Portal or see the reinsurance topics in Touchstone Help.
You link each reinsurance certificate or treaty to the location or layer to which the reinsurance applies by including the policy ID (contract or account), exposure type (location or layer), and exposure ID in each reinsurance record.
For detailed information about the fields that you can import as part of a reinsurance file, see Reinsurance fields for import. For a list of the minimum required fields that you must include in a reinsurance file, see Minimum required fields for import.
