Specifying the destination data source, exposure set, and exposure view

When importing .csv files, you specify destination information and exposure views.

Procedure

In ImportExpress, you specify the destination data base, exposure set, and, optionally, projects, project currency, and exposure views.

To specify the destination information:
  1. Open ImportExpress.
  2. Note the currently specified SQL server.
  3. Select the target database in which you want to save the imported data, or, to create a new database to store the imported data, enter a unique database name.
  4. In the Exposure Set Name list, select the target exposure set in which you want to save the imported data, or, to create a new exposure set for the imported data, enter a unique exposure set name.
  5. To create a new exposure view in a project, or add to an existing exposure view, during the import:
    1. Select the Create an Exposure View (in a New or Existing Project) check box.
    2. In the Projects field, select the project in which you want to create or add an exposure view, or, to create a new project enter a unique project name.
    3. If you are creating a new project, the Project Currency field becomes active. Select the currency and exchange rate to apply to the new project.
The project currency settings override the business unit currency settings.
    4. In the Exposure Views field, enter a name for the new exposure view that you want to create, or, if you selected an existing project, you can select an existing exposure view to which you want to add the imported data.
    5. To auto-generate an exposure view summary during the import, select the Auto-generate exposure summary check box.

Next Steps

After you define the destination data source, exposure set, and (optional) exposure view, we recommend that you configure the import options.
