Importing a Currency Exchange Rate Set

Administration Console > Global Defaults > Currency Rate Settings

When you import a currency exchange rate set from a CSV file and the file contains deprecated currencies or is missing new currencies, Touchstone removes the deprecated currencies and adds any new currencies that the current version of Touchstone supports.

If the CSV file includes duplicate currencies, Touchstone will reject the import.

The file name must be unique; if you export a currency set and then import it, you must also rename the rate set before importing it, as noted in Exporting a Currency Exchange Rate Set.

Procedure

To import a currency exchange rate set:

  1. On the toolbar, click (Import Currency Exchange Rate Set).

The Import Currency dialog box opens.

  2. Browse to the location of the currency file that you want to import.

The path must be a valid UNC path, such as to a shared network folder.

  3. In the Open dialog box, select the currency file and click Open.

The selected file is listed in the Browse Currency File field.

  4. Click Import.

Results

If a file with the same name exists, the system prompts you to decide whether to replace it or not. If a file with the same name does not exist, the export process continues, and the imported currency file is included in the list of currency rate tables.
