Fields on the Defaults tab

In the Field Mapping window, set the import defaults for policy and layer fields so that ImportExpress automatically fills in certain fields when they are blank in the selected source import files.

Note: Touchstone does not support single-day contracts.

Policy fields

Field Description Default value
Inception Date Select the default inception date. The field represents the date of the first day on which coverage is effective.

For inception and expiration dates, and other in-force dates, you must specify a date value between 01/01/1970 and 12/31/2038, inclusive, for dates based on U.S. regional settings. If you are not using U.S. regional settings, use a date value other than 01/01/1970, such as 01/01/1990.

When importing data, use one of the following formats and select this format on the ImportExpress Options tab:

  • MM/DD/YYYY
  • DD/MM/YYYY
  • YYYYMMDD
  • YYYY-MM-DD
January 1 of the current year
Expiration Date Select the default expiration date. The field represents the date of the last day on which coverage is effective.

Line of Business Enter the default line of business (LOB) value. Unknown
Policy Form Enter the name of the default policy form. Unknown
Status Select the default status. Submitted
Currency Select the default base currency. US Dollar
Perils Select the default perils and sub-perils. For primary and facultative property policies:
  • Earthquake
  • Tropical Cyclone
  • Severe Storm
  • Other Perils

For primary and facultative workers' compensation policies, these are the only supported perils:

  • Earthquake: Earthquake Shake, Fire Following, Tsunami
  • Other Perils: Terrorism
