Disaggregation updates

Summary of model disaggregation enhancements associated with this release.

Scope

Disaggregation updates in this release reflect changes to supporting data such as zip and postal codes, various industry exposure databases, and support for a new model.

Notes

  • United States: Verisk has also updated disaggregation data to incorporate both the latest zip code changes and enhancements to the U.S. Industry Exposure Database. These updates apply to all models covering the United States.
  • Australia: Disaggregation updated to reflect the updated industry exposure database. Note: Disaggregation updates affect Australia bushfire, earthquake, tropical cyclone, and severe thunderstorm.
  • Mexico: Disaggregation updates impact results for Mexico earthquake and tropical cyclone.
  • United Kingdom: Updated centroid for 374 postal codes to point from water bodies to land in order to include in disaggregation process. Disaggregation updates apply to all models that include coverage for the UK or Great Britain region including European models.
  • Additional Info: Updates have been made to the Indonesia Industry Exposure DatabaseIndustry Exposure Database and a new Malaysia Industry Exposure Database has been created to support the new Malaysia/Indonesia flood model coming later this year. These changes impact disaggregation for these countries.
    • Touchstone loss analyses involving models in these countries that are not being updated (i.e. Indonesia earthquake) will be impacted when disaggregation is used.
    • Touchstone Re also supports the new Malaysia Industry Exposure Database and an updated Indonesia Industry Exposure Database as well as an updated southeast Asia earthquake industry loss file (ILF) with Indonesia loss records scaled to reflect the update in the Indonesia Industry Exposure Database.
