Using Map Controls with a Terrorism Deterministic Event Set

When you create or edit a custom terrorism deterministic event set in the Event Set Manager, Touchstone automatically populates the latitude and longitude coordinates when you click on a location on the map. You can also zoom into and pinpoint the location at which the event occurs. An event set can contain multiple events.

Note:

To perform a Deterministic Loss Analysis for a particular country, your license must include that country and peril. You can add, edit, and analyze events only in licensed countries.

Procedure

To have Touchstone automatically enter the latitude and longitude of a location.

In the Administration Console, select Event Set Management.
On the grid toolbar, click .

The Event Set: Deterministic Terrorism Details window opens.
In the Event Set Name field, enter a name for the new event set.
[Optional] In the Event Set Description field, enter a description for the new event set.
In the Event Name field, enter the name for an event to add to the new event set.
In the Country list, select the country in which the event occurs.

The list only includes countries included in your license. After you select a country, the map view zooms in on it.

Note:
If you select the AIR Landmarks check box, the map disappears. Touchstone does not provide map controls for specific AIR landmarks.
Click any point on the map.

Touchstone populates the Latitude and Longitude fields with the coordinates of that point.
Enter additional event location values, such as the street.
Click Add.

A red pin appears on the map at the centroid of the specified location and the event appears in the events grid.
Move the pointer over a pin on the map to display event details.

If you select one or more events in the events grid, the map zooms to those locations and displays a blue pin at each location.
