Performing a Validation Diagnostic

Procedure

To run a Data Quality Analysis with a Validation diagnostic:

  1. Create a new Data Quality Analysis.
  2. [Optional] In the New Data Quality Analysis pane, select additional targets.
  3. To configure Completeness rules:
    1. Under Validate and Score, select Validate Data.
    2. In the Validate Data Options pane, select Completeness, select a rule set from the list, and then click Options.

The first time you select Validate Data, the only rule set is the AIR (Default) Completeness rule set. After selecting Options, you can set options or create a new rule set.

    3. In the Rule Set Editor window, select the check box next to each completeness rule that you want to use and then configure the attributes of your exposure data that you want to analyze for each rule.

In some fields, you can select a mathematical operator (=, <, <=, >, or >=) and enter a specific value.

    4. After you finish configuring the rules, choose the save option that you want to use.
    5. To view information about the rule set, click Rule Set Metadata in the sidebar; then, optionally, enter information about the rule by in the Notes field. When you have finished with the rule set, close the window.

  5. To narrow the scope of the exposure data being analyzed, click Analysis Filters.

You can choose to analyze only those exposures with a total replacement value above or below a specific value.

  6. Click Analysis Management to configure analysis-specific functions.
  7. [Optional] In the Analysis Prefix field, enter a prefix to distinguish between analysis results when you run an analysis with multiple targets.
  8. In the Analysis Name field:
    1. If the analysis target is a single exposure view or contract, leave the default, which is the exposure view name or the contract ID and the type of analysis, or enter a unique alphanumeric identifier.
    2. If the analysis target includes multiple exposure views or contracts, you cannot change the default name, which is "Auto name ('n' items)".
Note:

Entering some combination of the exposure view name along with the analysis type enables you to quickly find result sets in the Activity Monitor.

  1. Click Run.

Touchstone adds the project to the Activity Monitor queue for processing when the required system resources are available.

  2. View the analysis results.
