Add Third party Wildfire data to the map layer

Add third-party data from different sources to the map layers. You can use the layer as a spatial filter while searching for events.

Third party data includes external advisory data from US Environmental Protection Agency and satellite imageries from MODIS and VIIRS .

Procedure

  1. Click on the wildfire Data - Western U.S..
  2. Click on the Third Party tab .
    Select Resource window opens.
  3. From the Select Resource drop-down list, select the third-party data you want to include in the map layer. You can select from

    Air Quality Real-time access to air quality data
    MODIS Thermal Satellite imagery of wildfire hotspots
    VIIRS Thermal Satellite imagery of wildfire hotspots
    Various events listed with the selected advisory will appear on the screen for your selection.
  4. Select the event of your choice from the list. Alternatively, you can search by entering the event name in the text box.
  5. Click on View Details to know further about the event and its key metrics.
  6. Alternatively, click on the Add to Map to further investigate the layer on the map.
  7. Optionally, repeat steps 2 to 4 to add multiple advisories to the map layers.

Results

The advisory data gets added to the map layers for visualization.
