View landfall characteristics of an event
You can view detailed landfall characteristics of a selected event on the Results panel.
Procedure

Search for an event.
- To search using event identifiers, see Search for tropical cyclone events using event identifiers.
- To search using a parametric event filter, see Search for tropical cyclone events using attribute filters.
- To search events from Verisk's ALERT issued list, see Search for Tropical Cyclone events from Verisk's ALERTâ„¢ services.
The tabs of the Results Grid gets updated with the landfall characteristics of the selected event.

Click on
Option Description Stochastic Events Displays landfall characteristics of the events in stochastic catalog which pass through your applied search criteria. Historical Events Displays landfall characteristics of the events in historic catalog that meet your specified search criteria. In the current release of Catalog Viewer, there are Historical events only from North Atlantic Historical Hurricane Catalog. The Results Table of Historical Events additionally contains information on the Event Name and Actual Year of event occurrence. My Collection Display events that have been saved from the Stochastic Events and Historical Events tabs, or both. -
From either of the tabs in the Results Grid, select the
row of the event of your interest.
The entire storm track gets highlighted on the map with all the hurricane landfall points displayed, including their order of occurrence.

Alternatively, click at any point on the storm track.
The storm track of the selected event gets highlighted on the map with all the hurricane landfall points displayed, including their order of occurrence.
Consequently, the Results panel will also auto-scroll and zoom to the row of the first landfall point of the selected event, highlighting the event in the Results tab.

Navigate to the page showing the event or landfall of your interest by clicking
the arrow at the bottom of the Results panel. Set the page size you want
to view with the
total number of results per page displayed at the bottom of each page.
The events in the current tab of the Results panel get displayed on the map.

Click on the Event Summary button at the top of the
Results table.
You will see an information pop-up on the map, providing event ID, landfall count, and industry loss numbers associated with the selected event.

Optionally, you can click on the Hourly Points on the
events summary pop-up.
The Hourly Points get displayed on both the Results Panel and the map.
- Click elsewhere on the Results tab to clear the pop-up.
